Fashion Forward Accents...

The World of Interiors vs The World of Fashion…  One would think they are two industries that sort of go hand in hand, which they are to a point…  The Fashion industry changes much more frequently and trends are things that can have a shelf life of a Spring/Summer season, never to be heard of again within that decade… While the Interior Design industry tends to be very slow in changing things.  I understand that there’s good logic behind this, but it’s not to say that a trend can’t be celebrated inside your home…

Let’s say for example, you’re totally in love with the bold 80’s inspired graphic patterns on those blousy off the shoulder numbers you’ve been rocking the last few months; then why not add some pizazz to your place with a shot of color or pattern… Go out and grab an inexpensive top with the colors and patterns you love, and bring it over to your local dry cleaner or seamstress and have her sew you up a pillow cover or two… I mean the inserts are so easily attainable and are reusable… Any bed and bath store will have them in ranging prices from dirt cheap acrylic fill, to the 100% down guys.  I personally, would go for something like a 70/30 mix, meaning 70% feathers/30% down.  This gives you the softness and luxury of the down, but the stability and form of the feathers, which is what keeps a throw pillow fluffy, with a minimal amount of maintenance.   It’s such a great and relatively inexpensive way to have your personal World of Fashion collide with your World of Interiors…

Come on... How much fun would these blouses be translated into a fabulous throw pillow on your sofa?...  Quick and easy, without having to make major investments in your furniture pieces.
