Nursery project...

Just in the midst of a nursery project right now, and kind of loving the results thus far, so I just wanted to share where my key elements are coming from, just in case you've got the urge to enlarge your family a bit... :)

This is a girl's room, but we're not going total pink! I'm really not so opposed to pink nursery for girls as long as they are really offset with something else to counter balance the sweetness... So this room is a accented with grey and white, which is so chic, and I think much easier to transition into as she grows up!

Let's start with the Austin Crib and 4 Drawer Dresser from ducduc... This is such a great company to work with as there is a myriad of color combinations you can do to really customize your pieces! Both are shown in a darker finish, but we're doing a grey limed oak and white lacquer pairing! How chic is that!

What's on the walls? Well a super gorge Designers Guild pink, magenta, metallic gold and white striped paper called Pembroke-Peony! So unbelievable when installed!

Next, on the windows, just a simple relaxed Roman valance to dress it without being too fluffy... This beautiful Osborne & Little fabric from the Lorca Silk Roads Collection called Sausalito is the choice. It's a play on a traditional floral, but so updated... I especially love the fact that the abstract flowers are set on a smokey grey field and the subtle highlights of green keep it playful...

To illuminate the room I chose a from a new line of lighting I discovered not too long called Marset. The company makes very unique and interesting fixtures in a pocket of the industry where you really need to weed through a lot of mediocre fixtures... This is the Discoco ceiling mount, which is like the new updated Artichoke fixture which everyone is familiar with. Love!

What's baby going to be lulled to sleep in? Well this great glider from Gus Modern. I just think this is one of the best gliders on the market right now. The Sparrow Glider is one of the few smaller scaled, clean lined and just good looking baby friendly chairs on the market, that could easily go into a living room, and no one would blink an eye. We're going with the Cashmere/Carbon fabric, which looks awesome!

Bedding is very important for baby and designer as well... Hehehe! I mean come on! So Matteo it is! The beauty of this line of bedding is that their linens are so ultra soft. They feel like they've been washed a hundred times, so they're yummy and like buttah'... For the actual crib sheet we're going simple with the white Combed Cotton finish, but for the bumper it's going to be the Vintage Linen Bumper in Coal... It's so sumptuous, I want to curl up in the crib!

Finally, what are we grounding this whole scheme with? Well of course one of my faves... An uh-mazing magenta Color Reform Rug from my friends at ABC Carpet and Home.

Totally not a bad way to get ushered into the world ha?!... Surrounded by fabulousness before she can even see in color!... LOVE that!
