Everyone should give themselves a little area in their home for a cozy chair, a blanket, and a book... I created this private little sanctuary in the corner of a client's bedroom with a few simple pieces that could literally work in anyone's environment... I absolutely love the effortless quality of the vignette, and it's timeless appeal.
The foundation of the grouping is anchored by Laura Kirar's Lounge Chair & Ottoman from McGuire upholstered in a yummy taupe chenille from J. Robert Scott. The caning and bamboo frame of the chair and ottoman adds another dimension probably not already found in most people's rooms. That's what makes the pieces so great! Introducing another texture, or material can always keep things visually interesting. I also love this floor lamp from Interieurs called the Cleveland Floor Lamp, which is reclaimed industrial fittings brought to life with a hand blown glass shade. An exquisite stump of petrified wood acts as a surface to place your book and a glass of wine down on, while you wrap yourself in the chocolate cashmere throw... This is the ideal place for getting away from it all, without actually stepping foot outside your home.
